But based on how I felt about the book, its a 2 out of 5 stars. I get the feeling this series would be more enjoyable to a film or literature student who would extract more enjoyment from the symbolism than from the text itself. View all 3 comments. It was also so easy to picture in my mind, for the author used such detailed imagery. Now here are the good bits:

I was unsure what I’d make of it but found myself laughing out loud for a good hour once I got going.
O guia definitivo do mochileiro das galáxias
The main setting was the Heart of Gold ship, and it added so much to the story since it was so important to the whole plot.
Certainly didn’t live up to the hype. Or maybe it’s Adams’ writing style. In the long run, I feel like the book was kind of stupid in a way. The gyia really added to daas story because it provided what Prefect thought they would need, and it was the place where Arthur started to understand that the world was going to end.
Even though this is a very popular book, I just can’t seem to like it. Arthur and Prefect spent the first part of the book in their own town, and mostly in the bar. Actually I agree its a little overrated. Then An alien that crashed on earth disguised as a human, who is friends with Arthur, escapes the earth with Arthur by hitch hiking onto a space ship.
Though it is very unique and imaginative, that was not enough to to hold my attention. Old Thrashbarg interpreting everything he experiences as divine intervention and making up stories to explain it all though hinting that he’s only doing this opportunistically to hold onto his power in his tiny corner of the universe.
There were times that I just totally tuned the whole story out because it was boring to me. Yes, I know it’s meant to be black humour etc but just not my type of humour.
O Guia Definitivo do Mochileiro das Galáxias by Douglas Adams (2 star ratings)
Das alles ist besonders deswegen schade, weil ich den Anfang absolut genial fand. Somehow, all of these people know each other from a party in the past.
It was really hard to understand Zophad, for he had problems with his brain that were hard to understand. Maybe throw Wowbagger in there too. I did not like this one nearly as much as I expected too, but I still wanted to see what Ford and Arthur would do next, so I kept going. I can appreciate the style of humour in the book, but it wasn’t for me, even though I wished it to.
It had a plot that was hard to understand. Quotes from O Guia Definitivo If anything, this book is perhaps longer than it needs to be, and it is one I am glad to be done with.
Most of the time I had no idea what was going on, our what it had to do with the story. For some reason I didn’t like it as much as I had hoped beforehand.
O Guia Definitivo do Mochileiro das Galáxias
But suddenly, the intergalactic president comes to destroy the earth to build a space free way. I’ll spare you the entire piece, the important part is the following: This series is really weird.
This is a collection of all five Hitch Hiker’s Novels. But somehow Douglas Adams seems to have actually tried to think through the practicalities of his crazy ideas and fleshed them out into a proper element of the story that could almost be real. The books are peppered with this nod to the futility of existence, the need to create our own purpose in a purposeless universe, and the unfairness of it all.
Weiter kam ich nicht. And at times I did – The Guide was funny, creative, and I get why it became the bestseller it is today.

Ci ho messo qualche pagina ad inquadrarmi, a capire lo stile e tutto il resto, ma alla balaxias sono riuscito a seguire il racconto. Because I’m mochlieiro that was my reaction to this omnibus edition of the five books in The Hit When I was little my Dad used to recite an unusual poem every so often. Lists with This Book. The immortal Wowbagger’s quest to insult every sentient being in existence to give his life meaning.
